Repair Fix Restore Oil Painting Houston Paint Separated From Canvas

This painting was inherited, and it was previously restored improperly.
Many of the problems with the painting were due to the prior restoration.
The paint layer was unstable, was separated from the canvas, was flaking, and cracked… had craquelure.
The oil painting needed cleaning and the frame was scratched and dirty.
The painting was removed from the stretcher bars.
Then part of the canvas was relined with a heat-activated
adhesive to keep the surface even and structurally sound.
The painting was then cleaned, and transparent paint and protective varnish were applied to the frame.

The clients said “Oh, wow!” on seeing the restored painting for the first time.

They said it looked like a different painting and didn’t think it would look as good. Speaking about the improvement in the cracking they said, “Holy, mackerel!”

They were absolutely happy with the oil painting restoration.

They mentioned that the frame looked brand new.

Two more happy clients are pleased with Life on the Wall’s oil painting restoration, preservation, and conservation in Houston.
