A client had a dark, poorly restored painting from Brazil that featured tears and overpainting. After restoration, the painting transformed significantly, revealing more animals and a vibrant blue sky. The client’s enthusiastic reaction included phrases like “Holy, Moly, Wow” and “fantastic,” indicating his excitement and anticipation for his children’s response.
The oil painting portrait has been in our client’s family for generations. It was originally in Connecticut and moved around the US until it ended up here in Houston. It had quite a few cuts, abrasions, holes, spills, stains, and indented areas, plus it needed cleaning.
He brought it to our Houston oil painting restoration office filled with soot and had a hole, scratches and missing paint.
